Pandit Narayan Prasad Ji was born in 1908 in Jaipur to the famous family of Hari Prasad-Hanuman Prasad. Narayan Prasad ji father was Hanuman Prasad ji and Hari Prasad was the elder brother of Hanuman Prasad ji. Hari Prasad Ji was a dance teacher in Jaipur’s “Gunjan Khana”. roNarayan Prasad Ji training in Kathak dance began at the age of eight fm his uncle and father, and from the age of twelve, he began to appear to the public as a boy-dancer and a prodigy. Narayan Prasad’s two elder brothers, Mohan Lal and Chiranji Lal, then engaged as a teacher of pakhawaj and dance.
Pandit Narayan Prasad became famous in a short period after successfully performing his art in several music conferences. Then you earned a good reputation by performing dances at several music conferences across the country respectively. He was proficient in “Shringar”, and was conferred with the title of “Nrityatrayi”.
Acheivements and Awards
He was awarded the title of “Nrityaacharya” at the Belgaum Session of All India Gandharva College, Delhi Mandal in 1957. Since 1950, you Gandharva The college was imparting dance education in Delhi. By Gandharva Mahavidyalaya at Belgaum on 8 December 1958. He had about seven hundred students of caliber, many of whom gained wide acclaim. 12 December after teaching in Delhi for twelve years. Pt. Narayanprasad had equal command on on both the dance-rhythm and Bhava sides. He was a makeup expert. While presenting a juice, he used to show it to other cooks very efficiently. पंडित नारायणप्रसाद जी का जन्म जयपुर में 1908 में हरि प्रसाद-हनुमान प्रसाद के प्रसिद्ध घराने में हुआ था। नारायण प्रसाद जी के पिता हनुमान प्रसाद जी थे और हरि प्रसाद हनुमान प्रसाद जी के बड़े भाई थे। हरि प्रसाद जी जयपुर के “गुंजन खाना” में नृत्य-शिक्षक थे। कथक नृत्य में नारायण प्रसाद जी का प्रशिक्षण उनके चाचा और पिता से आठ साल की उम्र में शुरू हुआ और बारह साल की उम्र से वे जनता के सामने एक लड़के-नर्तक और एक विलक्षण व्यक्ति के रूप में दिखाई देने लगे। नारायण प्रसाद के दो बड़े भाई, मोहन लाल और चिरंजी लाल, तब पखावज और नृत्य गायन के शिक्षक के रूप में लगे हुए थे।
कई संगीत सम्मेलनों में अपनी कला का सफलतापूर्वक प्रदर्शन करने के बाद थोड़े समय में नारायण प्रसाद प्रसिद्ध हो गए। फिर क्रमश : देश भर में अनेक संगीत सम्मेलनो में नृत्य प्रदर्शन कर आपने अच्छी ख्याति अर्जित की। पंडित नारायणप्रसाद जी “श्रृंगार” में निपुण थे, और उन्हें “नृत्यत्रयी” की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया था।
उपलब्धियां और पुरस्कार
सन 1957 में अखिल भारतीय गांधर्व महाविद्यालय दिल्ली मण्डल के बेलगाम अधिवेशन में आपको “नृत्याचार्य” की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया गया । सन् 1950 से आप गांधर्व महाविद्यालय, दिल्ली में नृत्य शिक्षा प्रदान कर रहे थे। 8 दिसंबर 1958 को बेलगाम में गंधर्व महाविद्यालय द्वारा। उनके पास कैलिबर के लगभग सात सौ छात्र थे, जिनमें से कई ने व्यापक ख्याति अर्जित की। बारह साल तक दिल्ली में पढ़ाने के बाद 12 दिसंबर 1958 को उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। उनके छह बच्चों में, चंद और स्वराज प्रतिष्ठित नृत्य-कलाकार हैं।
पं. नारायणप्रसाद का नृत्य- लय और भावा दोनों ही पक्षों पर समान अधिकार था। शृंगार के तो वे विशेषज्ञ ही थे। एक रस को प्रस्तुत करते हुए संचारी रूप से अन्य रसो को भी वे अत्यन्त कुशलता से दिखाते थे। वे श्रेष्ठ नृतक होने के अलावा उत्कृष्ठ गायक व तबला – परवावज गायक भी थे। पं. नारायणप्रसाद कृष्ण भक्त थे। और कृष्णलीला को आधार बनाकर उन्होने बहुत से कवित्त व् ठुमरियों की रचना की है। आपके सात-आठ सौ शिष्यों में से हजारीलाल, कुन्दजलाल, शंकर झा, रानीकर्णा, संतोष सूद आदि विशेष प्रसिद्ध है।
